Dr. Jonathan Blake, DDS, MS

Dr. Jonathan Blake is a prosthodontist, a dentist with three additional years of training in replacing teeth, and he designs the teeth that Molly surgeons anchor in Newport Beach and Irvine. He earned his DDS at the USC School of Dentistry and completed his specialty training and a Master of Science in prosthodontics at the UCLA School of Dentistry. He joined Molly in 2005, when the practice first brought a prosthodontist in-house for full-arch care.

Most full-arch patients at Newport Beach and Irvine meet him at the first consultation. He works with Dr. William Carver and Dr. Natalie Chen to plan the position of the implants around the teeth he has designed, using 3D CBCT scans, digital smile design and photographs. On surgery day he fits the fixed temporary bridge, and over the following months he refines the bite, the shape and the shade before the final teeth are made. He also designs implant-supported dentures for patients who prefer a removable option.

Dr. Blake is a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics. He wrote Molly’s comparison of full-arch implants and dentures, and patients say he is just as fair in person: he explains what each option costs, how it feels and how it is cared for, and he does not push the more expensive one.
