Dr. Andrew Pham, DDS

Dr. Andrew Pham grew up in Westminster, a few miles from Little Saigon, and had his own wisdom teeth out in high school. He remembers the nerves well, and he credits that memory with the way he talks to teenagers now. He earned his DDS at the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry and completed his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at Highland Hospital in Oakland, a busy county program known for its surgical volume. He joined Molly Irvine in 2016.

Most of his patients are teens and young adults: high school students from Irvine and Mission Viejo, and a good number of UC Irvine students on spring or winter break. He evaluates wisdom teeth, removes them when there is a clear reason to, and exposes impacted canines in coordination with orthodontists. He holds a California general anesthesia permit and performs most wisdom tooth surgery under IV sedation, with continuous monitoring and a dedicated team in the room.

Dr. Pham is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He wrote Molly’s day-by-day wisdom teeth recovery guide, and parents say his evening phone calls after surgery are just as practical. He speaks Vietnamese and often consults with grandparents and parents in the same room, so the whole family hears the same plan.
