Oral surgery in Torrance

Torrance opened in 2010 on Hawthorne Boulevard, just below the hill up to Rolling Hills Estates and Palos Verdes. Patients come from Redondo Beach, Lomita, Rancho Palos Verdes, Hermosa Beach and San Pedro, and many are referred by dentists along Pacific Coast Highway.

Dr. Arjun Mehta removes wisdom teeth, including impacted lower teeth near the nerve, and places implants and bone grafts. His Thursday schedule here fills with students from South High, West High and Palos Verdes Peninsula High during summer. Dr. Sophia Okonkwo is our oral pathology surgeon for the South Bay. She evaluates suspicious patches, lumps and sores, takes biopsies, and works with Torrance Memorial when a diagnosis needs a wider team. She also handles complex extractions and facial injuries.

Dr. Aisha Rahman, a periodontist, treats gum recession with grafting and preserves sockets after extractions, often working on the same patients Dr. Mehta treats for implants. Marisol Vega, a certified registered nurse anesthetist, provides general anesthesia here on Wednesdays.

Many of our South Bay patients work in aerospace in El Segundo or at the Port of Los Angeles, and our front desk is used to checking two insurance plans at once: dental for the implant and medical for a biopsy or trauma. You will see both in one written estimate before we schedule anything. Japanese and Korean are spoken by members of our team.
