About this office

Oral & facial surgery in Santa Monica

Santa Monica opened in 2012 in a medical building on the corner of 20th Street, across from Saint John's Health Center and a few blocks north of the E Line's 26th Street/Bergamot station. A lot of our patients take the train in from Culver City or Palms, and many more ride a bike from Ocean Park or Mar Vista.

Dr. Arjun Mehta sees most of our wisdom teeth patients, including the impacted lower teeth that sit close to the nerve, and he places implants and grafts for the surrounding neighborhoods. Santa Monica College and UCLA students make up a good share of his summer schedule. Dr. Rachel Goldberg treats TMJ and facial pain, plans corrective jaw surgery, and works with local sleep physicians on surgical options for sleep apnea.

For full-arch cases, Dr. Daniel Reyes operates here on Mondays alongside Dr. Maya Castellanos, our prosthodontist. Dr. Kwame Asante, our dentist anesthesiologist, joins on Tuesdays and Thursdays for general anesthesia, which makes Santa Monica a good choice for longer jaw surgery and full-arch days.

Thursday hours run to 6 p.m. for consultations and follow-ups. Recovery suites face the courtyard and stay quiet, and if your escort would rather not wait, there are plenty of cafés on Wilshire and at Bergamot Station within a short walk. We will call them when you are ready.

Very good experience with my implant. Dr. Mehta was precise and calm. Only reason for four stars is the garage is tight on a busy day, so leave a few extra minutes. Otherwise the team was great.

After two years of failing with CPAP, my sleep doctor sent me to Dr. Goldberg. She was honest that jaw advancement surgery is a big step and walked me through recovery week by week. The written estimate included everything, and Molly handled the medical insurance side.

My lower wisdom teeth were sitting right on the nerve and I was scared about numbness. Dr. Mehta showed me the 3D scan, explained exactly how he would approach each tooth, and called me that evening to check in. Swelling was gone in about five days and no numbness at all.

FAQ

Santa Monica questions

Can’t find what you need? Call (310) 555-0102 and Marco or someone on the front desk team will help.

Can I take the train to Molly Santa Monica?

Yes. The E Line's 26th Street/Bergamot station is about a fifteen-minute walk. After sedation, though, you need an adult to drive you home, not public transit or a rideshare on your own.

Which surgeon should I see for TMJ pain?

Dr. Rachel Goldberg. She starts with conservative options such as splints, physical therapy and Botox before discussing surgery.

Are you open in the evening?

We are open until 6 p.m. on Thursdays for consultations and follow-ups. Other weekdays we close at 5 p.m., and at 2 p.m. on Fridays.
