Dr. Grace Liu, DDS

Dr. Grace Liu has evaluated the wisdom teeth of a good share of the teenagers in Pasadena, La Cañada Flintridge and Burbank, and many of their parents now come to her for implants. She earned her DDS at the UCLA School of Dentistry and completed a four-year oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, where she spent long nights on the trauma service. She joined Molly Pasadena in 2011 and helped open Molly Burbank in 2018.

Her evaluations for teens are unhurried. She reviews the panoramic X-ray or 3D CBCT scan with the patient and a parent, explains which teeth are likely to cause problems and which may be fine to monitor, and suggests timing around school breaks when removal is recommended. For adults she places dental implants, and she performs sinus lifts when the upper back jaw needs more bone height, often at the same appointment as the implant when the bone allows.

Dr. Liu is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. She speaks Mandarin and Cantonese, which many families in the San Gabriel Valley appreciate, and she is careful to explain anesthesia options in each language. Patients at the Burbank office, many of them studio workers with tight schedules, value that she runs on time and gives a clear recovery plan in writing.
