About Dr. Reyes

Dr. Daniel Reyes grew up in Boyle Heights, the first in his family to go to college, and he still describes the LAC+USC Medical Center towers as the place he learned to be a surgeon. He earned his DDS at the USC School of Dentistry and his MD at the Keck School of Medicine of USC, then completed his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at LAC+USC, one of the busiest trauma centers in the country. He joined Molly Beverly Hills in 2004 and has helped open the Santa Monica office since.

His practice is built around full-arch reconstruction. He works side by side with Dr. Maya Castellanos, Molly’s prosthodontist on the Westside, so the surgical plan and the final teeth are designed together on the same 3D CBCT scan. For patients without enough upper jawbone for standard implants, he places zygomatic implants. When it is appropriate, he places implants and a fixed temporary bridge on the same day. He also performs corrective jaw surgery for adults whose bite problems go beyond what orthodontics alone can fix.

Dr. Reyes is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Patients often mention that he consults in Spanish or English with equal ease and that he answers the question behind the question. Many of his full-arch patients have put treatment off for years, and he knows it. He lays out the stages, the timeline and the cost in one sitting, then lets them decide.

Three other offices told me I needed a year of bone grafts. Dr. Reyes looked at my scan for a long time and explained zygomatic implants in plain terms. I had my upper arch done in one day at Molly Beverly Hills. Two weeks later I had my first steak in six years.
