Dr. Rafael Santos, DDS

Dr. Rafael Santos provides anesthesia across Molly’s San Diego County offices. He earned his DDS at the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry and completed a three-year dental anesthesiology residency at The Ohio State University. He joined Molly in 2017, holds a California general anesthesia permit, and is a Diplomate of the American Dental Board of Anesthesiology.

He works alongside the surgeons on longer cases, including full-arch implants and jaw surgery consultations, and for patients whose medical history calls for a dedicated anesthesia provider. Before surgery he reviews each patient’s health history and medications by phone, and during surgery he monitors ECG, pulse oximetry and capnography continuously. He speaks Tagalog and Spanish, which helps many families in Chula Vista and North County feel at ease, and he is known for explaining the wake-up process before it happens.
