Dr. David Kim, DDS

Dr. David Kim has led the surgical team at Molly Escondido since it opened in 2021, and before that he spent seven years at Molly Carlsbad. He earned his DDS at the Loma Linda University School of Dentistry and completed his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, a program with a heavy trauma and emergency load. He joined Molly in 2014.

His days are a mix of planned and unplanned care. He removes wisdom teeth for students from Cal State San Marcos and Palomar College, performs difficult extractions, and places dental implants for adults across inland North County. He also keeps room in his schedule for same-day emergency visits for swelling, infection, broken teeth and injuries, and he takes turns on Molly’s 24/7 surgeon line.

Dr. Kim is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Patients describe him as practical and straightforward. He tells you what he sees, what he recommends and what it will cost, then answers questions until there are none left. He speaks Korean, which several Escondido and Carlsbad families appreciate, and he has a reputation among local dentists for fitting in urgent referrals the same day when he can.
