Dr. Elena Vasquez, DDS, MD

Dr. Elena Vasquez sees patients at every stage of life, from newborns with a tongue tie to grandparents ready for an implant. She earned her DDS at the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco and her MD at the Keck School of Medicine of USC, then completed her oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at LAC+USC Medical Center. She joined Molly Sherman Oaks in 2015 and now also sees patients at Molly Valencia in Santa Clarita.

Families in the Valley know her for gentle work with younger patients. She performs frenectomies for infants and children, coordinating with lactation consultants and speech therapists when feeding or speech is part of the picture. She also works with local orthodontists to expose impacted canines so braces can guide them into place, a short procedure that is often done under local anesthesia with nitrous oxide. For teens and adults she removes wisdom teeth and places dental implants.

Dr. Vasquez is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. She consults in Spanish and English and makes a point of speaking to children directly, in words they understand, before turning to their parents. Parents often mention that she was the first person to explain a procedure to their child without frightening them, and that she followed up personally that evening.
