Dr. Aisha Rahman, DMD, MS

Dr. Aisha Rahman is Molly’s periodontist in the South Bay and Long Beach. She earned her DMD at the Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine and completed her specialty training and a Master of Science in periodontics at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. She joined Molly Torrance in 2014 and also sees patients at Molly Long Beach.

She treats the gums and bone around teeth and implants. She performs gum grafts to cover exposed roots and thicken thin tissue, including minimally invasive techniques when they suit the case. After extractions she preserves the socket so the bone keeps its shape for a future implant, and she performs bone grafts ahead of implant surgery. She works with Dr. Sophia Okonkwo, Dr. James Harrington and Dr. Arjun Mehta on shared cases, so patients often see the surgeon and the periodontist in one coordinated plan.

Dr. Rahman is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. Patients say she is calm and clear, and that she shows them close-up photos of their gums so they understand why a graft is recommended. She speaks Urdu and Arabic, and she often consults with family members on speakerphone so everyone hears the same plan.
