Dr. Tyler Brooks, DMD, MD

Dr. Tyler Brooks is an oral and maxillofacial surgery fellow at Molly Carlsbad. He earned his DMD at the Oregon Health & Science University School of Dentistry and his MD at the OHSU School of Medicine, then completed his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at Oregon Health & Science University in 2024. He is Board-eligible with the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and is working through the certification examinations.

In the Molly fellowship he operates under the direct supervision of Dr. Hannah Lindqvist in Carlsbad and, for jaw surgery, Dr. Benjamin Ortiz. He sees patients for wisdom teeth and dental implants, and he takes part in the planning and surgery of corrective jaw cases from the first orthodontic visit through recovery. Every plan he proposes is reviewed with his supervising surgeon, and a supervising surgeon is on site whenever he operates. Patients meet him at the consultation, not for the first time on surgery day.

Dr. Brooks grew up in Bend, Oregon, and was drawn to oral surgery after a facial injury in a high school ski race. Patients describe him as calm and thorough, and they often mention that he followed up personally with a call the evening after surgery. He brings a resident’s habit of explaining each step out loud, which many first-time patients find reassuring.
