Dr. Carlos Mendoza, DDS

Dr. Carlos Mendoza grew up in Chula Vista and helped open Molly’s South Bay office there in 2024, a few miles from the house where he was raised. He earned his DDS at the UCLA School of Dentistry and completed a four-year oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. He joined Molly La Jolla in 2010 and now divides his week between the two offices.

His practice covers the full range of office oral surgery. He removes wisdom teeth for teens and Southwestern College students, performs extractions, and places dental implants. For patients who qualify, he offers Teeth in a Day, placing implants and a temporary tooth or bridge at the same visit. He plans each case on a 3D CBCT scan and explains up front which patients are good candidates for immediate teeth and which will heal better with a staged approach.

Dr. Mendoza is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Many of his patients are bilingual families, and he often consults in Spanish with parents and English with their children in the same visit. Patients say he is warm and patient, and that his written estimate matched the final bill. He also gives talks on oral health at community events in Chula Vista and National City.
