Dr. Michael Osei, DDS, MD

Dr. Michael Osei trained a few miles from where he practices. After earning his DDS at the Howard University College of Dentistry in Washington, D.C., he came west for his MD at the Loma Linda University School of Medicine and his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at Loma Linda University Medical Center. He joined Molly in 2009, and when the Riverside office opened in 2016 he became its lead surgeon.

He brings two kinds of complex surgery to the Inland Empire. The first is full-arch reconstruction, including zygomatic implants for patients whose upper jaw has too little bone for standard implants, so they don’t have to drive to the coast for that care. The second is jaw surgery: corrective jaw surgery planned with local orthodontists, and maxillomandibular advancement for adults with obstructive sleep apnea who have not done well with CPAP. Every case is planned on a 3D CBCT scan, and full-arch cases are designed with the restoring prosthodontist before surgery.

Dr. Osei is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. His patients often mention his patience. He has been known to spend an hour on a full-arch consultation, and he is direct when a simpler option, such as an implant-supported denture, would meet a patient’s goals at lower cost.
