Associate Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon

Join Molly’s San Diego County team in La Jolla, Carmel Valley and Carlsbad. You will practice full-scope office oral and maxillofacial surgery with in-house prosthodontists and a dentist anesthesiologist, 3D CBCT planning in every office, and the support of colleagues like Dr. Benjamin Ortiz and Dr. Hannah Lindqvist. Compensation is a fixed base salary or a share of collections, whichever is higher.

What you’ll do

  • Consult with and treat patients for wisdom teeth, extractions, dental implants, bone grafting and full-arch surgery
  • Plan implant and full-arch cases on 3D CBCT scans with Molly prosthodontists and referring dentists
  • Provide IV sedation and general anesthesia under your California permit, with Molly’s monitoring and staffing protocols
  • Take part in the surgeon call rotation for Molly’s 24/7 surgeon line and make the evening call to each surgery patient
  • Build relationships with referring dentists and orthodontists in North County and coastal San Diego
  • Help supervise and teach Molly’s oral surgery fellows as you gain experience with the group

What you’ll bring

  • DDS or DMD and completion of a CODA-accredited oral and maxillofacial surgery residency
  • Board-certified, or Board-eligible and actively pursuing certification, with the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
  • Active California dental license (DDS) and a California general anesthesia permit, or eligibility to obtain both before starting
  • DEA registration and current BLS, ACLS and PALS
  • Dual-degree (MD) surgeons and experience with full-arch or orthognathic surgery welcome but not required
